Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe, 2024

20TH ANNUAL COTTESLOE EXHIBITION  | 1 – 18 MARCH 2024

Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe is staged on the beautiful Cottesloe Beach, Western Australia. The exhibition is featured from the sea wall, all the way along the sand towards North Cottesloe and on the surrounding grassed areas creating a beautiful sculpture park. Access to Cottesloe Beach can be made from the ramps or stairs at different locations along Marine Parade.

In Transition In transition is a work that stems from Battaglia’s exploration of floating sculptural geometric form within an abstract urban landscape. Exploring simplified geometric shape and form, interwoven positive and negative space build in a molecular sequence to create floating landscape formations indicative of abstract urban construction.

Offset connect ‘Offset connect' explores the relationship and connection between two objects. The contrast between the mild steel and the soft waxed cedar accentuates the tension in materiality and form.

Resemblance in passing ‘Resemblance in Passing' explores the unity and fit between two objects, capturing a connection in geometric form and shape. The transition of two objects into one.
